Hamburg, second biggest city in Germany, Europe's second biggest Harbour, a great sailing culture at a great lake, directed in the middle of the inner-city , an enormous open-mindness (As we say: "Hamburg is the gate to the world"), hudreds of years a hanseatic trading-traditon, and so, of course, a perfected marketing. And please, forget everything what you have heard about our crazy red-light district, before you have seen and learnt to know it by your own . ;)
Catchy advertisement, the topic of our Vision, could be a slogan for the city as well. In Hamburg there are dozens of big companies with great reputation in the field of marketing and communication such Jung von Matt, Springer & Jacobi, Beiersdorf (Nivea), Holsten and Astra, who do extremely good campaigns in the hard competed beer-market, Otto-Group, Reemtsma Cigarettes, Unilever, the big football clubs HSV and St. Pauli, and even a branch-office of facebook. Besides that we will hear some great thoughts of a highly appreciated professor in the field of visionary communication.
Of course we'll not have company visits, lectures and workshops only. We also will have enough leisure time to enjoy the city as itself. Taste the wonderful spirit of Hamburg and get in contact with the traditional northern German culture! This means for example: visit Europe's biggest Shopping-Center, learn practical, that Hamburg was the brewing-capital of Germany in the middle-age, watching Van-The-Man, or having a chilled walk through a international metropole, which has more bridges than Amsterdam and Venice together and is called the greenest city in Europe!

Times Local Qualification 2010 |

The local
qualification for the case study competition TIMES (Tournament In Management
and Engineering Skills) is taking place on Friday 8th of January, 2010 at the HAW Bergedorf. In cooperation with our sponsor
Arkwright we are giving you the chance to work on an interesting case study and
to qualify against other teams for the entry of the semi final in Braunschweig. Take the
opportunity in a team of 4 Hamburg IEM students to train solving case studys,
to get some detailed feedback, to improve your English and to have lots of fun.
The
application is now open. As only a maximum of 6 teams can participate, better
hurry!
