Have you ever heard about the “Hanse“? Would you like to get to know the North of Germany with its politics, culture and economy? Do you want to live the ESTIEM spirit in Bremen, Braunschweig and Hamburg?

Then the Europe3D North-Western Germany or E3D Hanse is the right event for you. Taking place from May 1st to 8th the organizers from three different Local Groups will provide you with manifold activities around the topic “Hanse... and North-Western Germany”.

The Hanseatic League (also known as the Hanse or Hansa) was an economic alliance of trading cities and their guilds that dominated trade along the coast of Northern Europe in the later Middle Ages. The Hanseatic cities had their own legal system and furnished their own protection and mutual aid, and thus established a sort of political autonomy and in some cases created political entities of their own.
All three cities still show remains of their past in the Hanse and we want to give you an insight into this topic while at the same time giving you an understanding of our current politics, economy and culture. So for example, you will get the opportunity to visit the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, enjoy some typical German student food during a walking dinner, visit interesting German companies like Volkswagen and Lufthansa, get to know our political system and current situation and of course have some nice city tours.
